Joining a team you have been invited to
Short answer
I have been invited to a team. What do I do?
Open the link in the invite email, sign in (or make a free account) with the address it was sent to, and press Accept in Settings, then the Account tab, then Team. The team pays for your seat; you get every tool of the team’s plan on your own account.

Open the invite email
It says who invited you and to which team, and has one button: Accept the invite, or Make your free account if you do not have one yet.

Sign in with the invited address
The invite belongs to the email address it was sent to, so sign in, or sign up, with that one.

Accept
The invite is waiting in Settings, then the Account tab, then Team. Accept it and the plan is yours at once, on the web and in the iPhone and iPad app. Decline frees the seat.
If you already pay for a plan
The invite shows how many days your own plan has left and what they are worth. Accepting ends your own plan straight away, with no refund to you, and that amount comes off the team’s next invoice instead, so nothing you paid is lost. If you are on a free trial, accepting ends the trial and nothing is charged to you.
Leaving a team
Leave team, in the same place, moves you to Beginner. Every board you made stays yours; boards that use paid tools lock until you have a paid plan again. You can be on one team at a time.
Questions
Do I have to pay anything to join a team?
No. The team pays for your seat.
I cannot see the invite in Settings.
Check you are signed in with the email address the invite was sent to, and open the Account tab. The team owner can resend it.
Can I join two teams?
No, one at a time. Leave your current team first.
