What happens to your boards if you stop paying
Short answer
What happens to my boards if I stop paying?
Nothing is deleted and nothing is rewritten. A board that uses a paid tool locks until you upgrade again, and then opens exactly as you left it. Or make a free version: a copy with the paid work taken out, while the original stays untouched beside it.
- Where
- Open a locked board: it names the paid tools it uses, and offers the plans or Create free version.

Step by step
-
Open the locked board
It says "Your board is safe, and it is locked", and names the paid tools it uses. Nothing has been removed.
-
Upgrade, or make a free version
Upgrading opens the original again, exactly as you left it. Create free version first shows exactly what will be taken out, then saves a copy without it and keeps the original locked beside it.
The free plan holds 25 boards
Beginner holds 25 boards on the web. A free version is a new board, so if you already have 25, delete one from My boards first.
