Work faster: the quick bar, double-tap, steps and keyboard shortcuts
Short answer
How do I build tactics boards faster in Total Football Studio?
Star what you add most to the quick bar, double-tap anything on the board for its quick settings, tap training gear straight onto the grass, put a one-two inside a single phase, copy and paste across phases, and press ? for every keyboard shortcut.
- Where

Your quick bar
Everything you put on the board, one press away. Your team and the opposition show in their own kits, the ball is your match ball, and every piece of equipment is there to star.
Where: Beside the pitch. Hide it or bring it back from Settings on the board.
Double-tap for quick settings
Double-tap anything on the board and the settings you reach for most open right beside it. An arrow shows its colour, strength, thickness, line, ends and bend as pictures to press.
Where: Anything on the board, or pick it and press E.
Tap to place equipment
Lay out a drill the way you would on the grass: pick a piece and tap, or drag a row, a slalom or a square spaced in metres.
Where: Equipment, then Training gear, then Tap to place.
Two passes in one phase
A one-two, a third-man run or a switch of play on a single phase: the actions play in order inside the same move, numbered 1, 2, 3.
Where: Any action tool, at the top of the board.
Carry on from the end of a run
Tap the end of a run to start the next one from there, so one player can check in and spin out, or go round two defenders, in one phase.
Where: The end of any run, or Then from at the top of the board.
Make the next action wait
A run that starts once the pass has gone, or a press that waits for the touch. Then, after holds the next action until everything before it has happened.
Where: Then, after, at the top of the board, with an action tool picked.
Copy and paste across phases
Copy a player, a piece of gear or a whole group and paste it onto another phase or another board, in the same spot, with its passes and runs still attached.
Where: Any board, with something picked.
Hide every arrow at once
Clear the board for the moment that matters: switch off the passes, the runs, the areas or the writing across the whole film. Nothing is deleted, and it holds in Play, on links and in exports.
Where: Show, at the bottom of the board.
The whole studio from the keyboard
Most of what you do has a key, and every harder feature has a small ? beside it with the same animation you have just watched.
Space plays the film, N adds a phase and 1 to 9 jump straight to one.
The arrow keys nudge what is picked half a metre. [ and ] always change phase.
Press ? on the board for the full list, any time.
Where: Press ? on the board.
Questions
Can I show a one-two, or two passes, in a single phase?
Yes. Draw the pass, then the return pass: an action by a player who has just moved or received the ball waits its turn by itself, so the actions play in order inside the same move, numbered on the board, up to four steps. Tap the end of a player's run to carry on from it for a zig-zag, or press Then, after to make any action wait for the ones before it.
Does the Studio have keyboard shortcuts?
Yes. Space plays the film, N adds a phase, 1 to 9 jump to a phase, the arrow keys nudge what is picked half a metre (Shift for two and a half), Cmd or Ctrl with C, X, V and D copy, cut, paste and duplicate across phases and boards, E opens quick settings, G places the last piece of equipment again, H hides every arrow and / finds a tool. Press ? on the board for the full list.
