Mark a whole match, keep the moments and make playlists

Short answer

How do I mark the moments of a full match and show them to my players?

Open the match in Your team, pick its video file and press a code at every moment that matters: each press keeps 8 seconds before it and 5 after. Keep the moments to show, put them in a playlist with your boards, and present it on the dressing room TV, send it as a link or make one MP4.

Where
Match video on a played match in Your team (Fixtures, Next match or match prep), then the Video tab. Or mark a whole match from your file, under From a real match on your systems page, marks a file without a match.
Plan
Amateur and above. Counts from your marks and tag files: Pro and above.

Step by step

  1. Open the match and pick its file

On Fixtures in Your team, press Match video on a played match; Next match and match prep have the same door once the match has kicked off.

Pick the file of the whole match, MP4 or MOV, any length. It plays from your device and is never uploaded: only the moments you keep are stored. Pick the same file next time and every mark is where you left it.

  2. Set the match clock

Play to the kick-off and press Kick-off here: every mark then reads on the match clock, not the file's own time. Press Second half here at the second half's kick-off to split the marks by half.

  3. Mark the moments

Press a code at every moment that matters, or its number key. Goal, Chance, Shot, Press won, Turnover, Counter, Corner, Free kick, Throw-in and Build-up are ready on the keys 1 to 0, and each press keeps 8 seconds before it and 5 after.

Us or Them (U) says whose moment it is, and Player gives the next mark a player. Space plays and pauses, the arrows go back or on 5 seconds (1 with Shift), and Backspace removes the last mark. Open a mark to add a note, change its player, or move its start and end a second at a time.

  4. Keep the ones to show

Keep cuts the moment from your file and stores it as a clip, up to 60 seconds. Analyse keeps it too, then opens it on a new board in a new tab for the Match Analysis room, while the match stays open where you left it.

  5. Make a playlist

In Your team, under Video, press New playlist, or + Playlist on any kept or analysed moment. Add kept moments and boards, drag them into the order you want to show them, up to 60, and write a note for the players under each.

  6. Present it, send it or save it

Present plays it full screen on the dressing room TV: a kept moment plays its clip, a board plays its phases, and your note shows large under each. The arrows, Page Down or a clicker move on, through a board's phases first; Space plays, F goes full screen and Esc closes.

Share link makes one link your players open on their phones with no account: they play it from the start or from any item, and it moves on by itself. Share again after a change and the same link updates. MP4 makes every item one after another in a single file, with a title card before each if you want.

Your codes

Under Your codes, change a code's name, colour, key and its seconds before and after, or add your own, up to 24 in a set. Your codes stay the same for every match you mark.

If the connection drops

Every mark is saved the moment you make it. If the connection drops, the page keeps your changes on this device, says how many are waiting and sends them when it is back. Close the tab halfway through, pick the same file again, and every mark is where you left it.

A second file of the same match

Two halves in two files, or a second camera: press Another file and the page asks Is this the same match? Yes, line it up, then play to its kick-off and press Kick-off is here, and every mark falls on the same moment of the match.

Counts

On Pro, Counts shows every code counted, Us against Them, half by half, as you mark.

Tags from another analysis tool

On Pro, Tag files at the top of the page brings in the tags you made in another analysis tool: the XML timeline most of them export, or a CSV with a start, an end and a code. Open the match file first, as the tags land on its timeline. Then three choices, before anything is added. The same video? If theirs was cut differently, pick one tag, press Find it in the match, play to that moment and press This is it, and every tag moves by the same amount. Their codes: each is matched to one of yours by name, added in its own colour, or skipped, within the 24 codes of your set. Their labels: one of your players, Us, Them, or kept on the moment as it came.

One file comes in as one import, listed under Brought in. Bring the same file in again and it replaces the first, so nothing is doubled; Remove this import takes every moment it brought back out. Take them out makes an XML timeline or a CSV of every moment on the file, in its own seconds, with Us and Them as Team labels, the player as a Player label and the labels you kept, to open in the tool you already use.

Your moments, match after match

The Video tab in Your team gathers every moment you mark, grouped by match, newest first, each on its own match clock. Filter by match, code, Us or Them, player, or kept only. A kept moment plays right there; one not kept plays with its match file open.

On Fixtures, a match shows how many moments it has. In match prep, the Opponent tab shows the moments against that opponent from every match you played them. On Pro, each player's page shows the moments marked with him.

Your staff

Coaches on your team who can change the squad mark matches and make, present and share playlists, and play your kept moments while your plan has Match Video. Keeping and analysing a moment is the head coach's, as the clips are kept in their storage.

Your clips and your storage

Only the moments you keep are stored, and they count against your plan's storage, a total for all your files. A playlist link plays a kept moment while your plan has Match Video and the clip is kept; delete the clip and that item plays its analysed board, or shows as no longer available.

Questions

Can I mark the moments of a whole match?

Yes, on Amateur and Pro. Open a match in Your team, pick its video file and press a code at every moment that matters: ten ready codes on the keys 1 to 0 (Goal, Chance, Shot, Press won, Turnover, Counter, Corner, Free kick, Throw-in and Build-up) or your own, for Us or Them, with a player and a note if you want. Each press keeps 8 seconds before it and 5 after. The match plays from your device and is never uploaded, and every mark is saved as you make it, so a dropped connection or a closed tab loses nothing. Keep cuts a moment into a clip in your storage; Analyse opens it on a new board for the Match Analysis room. On Pro, every code is counted, Us against Them, half by half.

Can I make a playlist of match moments for my players?

Yes, on Amateur and Pro. In Your team, under Video, put kept moments and boards in the order you want to show them, up to 60, each with a note for the players. Present plays it full screen on the dressing room TV, and the arrows or a clicker move on through each board's phases and the next item. Share link sends one link your players open on their phones with no account: the kept moments with the match video, the boards with your drawings, your notes under each. Share again after a change and the same link updates. MP4 makes one file of every item, with a title card before each if you want, for the meeting room or WhatsApp.

Can I bring in tags from another analysis tool?

Yes, on Pro. Open the match's video, press Tag files at the top of the page and choose the file: the XML timeline most analysis tools export, or a CSV with a start, an end and a code. Before anything is added you choose how it lands. If their video was cut differently, line the tags up by one of them and every tag moves by the same amount. Match each of their codes to one of yours, add it in its own colour, or skip it. Turn their labels into your players, your team or theirs; the rest stay on the moment. One file comes in as one import: bring the same file in again and it replaces the first, and Remove this import takes all of it back. Tag files also takes every marked moment out as an XML timeline or a CSV, Us and Them as Team labels and the player as a Player label, to open in the tool you already use.
